Residential Therapy Treatments & Modalities

cognitive behavioral therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and restructuring negative thought patterns that influence behavior and emotions. It operates on the principle that changing maladaptive thinking leads to changes in behavior and emotional regulation. CBT is a goal-oriented approach widely used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and substance use disorders. It teaches individuals coping strategies for dealing with challenging situations.1

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of treatment. Its foundational principle is the synthesis of opposites. Through acceptance and change strategies, DBT aims to help individuals learn to manage emotions, improve relationships, and live more mindfully. DBT is particularly effective for treating personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder, and conditions involving significant emotional dysregulation.2

individual therapy for addiction
Individual therapy (for addiction) involves one-on-one sessions between a client and a therapist, focusing on the underlying issues and behaviors contributing to substance use. It provides a private setting for individuals to explore their emotions, triggers, and past experiences that influence their addiction. This personalized approach enables the development of customized strategies for coping and recovery, making it a fundamental aspect of effective addiction treatment programs.

How it Works

The first step in entering our residential drug rehab is the initial evaluation process, which involves a comprehensive assessment conducted by our qualified professionals. This important step helps to understand the individual’s specific needs, substance use history, and any co-occurring mental health conditions. The evaluation typically includes interviews, questionnaires, and medical tests to create a personalized treatment plan. This detailed approach ensures that the treatment is tailored to address both the addiction and its underlying causes, setting a solid foundation for recovery.

FAQs About Residential Treatment

Get answers to the most commonly asked questions about residential drug and alcohol treatment.

Does residential rehab work?

Residential drug rehab is a fundamental aspect of drug and alcohol treatment and is highly effective for individuals struggling with addiction.

According to findings in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment, over 60% of individuals who engage in residential treatment for substance abuse and complete an inpatient drug and alcohol program report achieving and maintaining sobriety for one year or more.3

This statistic highlights the critical importance of choosing a dedicated alcohol and drug rehab program that offers a supportive and structured environment essential for overcoming addiction and fostering a sustainable recovery journey.

How long is residential drug rehab?

Residential treatment for substance abuse is customized to meet the unique needs of each individual, considering the type, severity, and history of addiction.

We avoid using a one-size-fits-all approach in our alcohol and drug rehab programs to provide the most effective outcomes for our clients.

Our experienced clinicians will thoroughly assess your situation and develop a personalized plan based on their findings.

It’s important to note that some insurance policies may have annual limits on coverage for certain levels of care.

However, there’s no need to worry about these details.

Our team is skilled at navigating these policies and will ensure you are fully informed and supported throughout your journey in our care.

Is residential rehab covered by insurance?

Insurance often covers Cornerstone’s inpatient drug and alcohol treatment.

You will need to pay an initial deductible as specified by your insurance plan.

After meeting your deductible, your insurance benefits will contribute towards the cost, covering a significant portion of the services provided.

While some insurance plans may cover most treatment expenses, others necessitate a deductible that varies by policy.

We encourage you to complete our insurance verification form to learn more about your health insurance coverage.

Our admissions team is here to simplify the process and will take the initiative to contact your insurance provider directly to clarify the specifics of your coverage.

What does residential rehab cost?

The cost of Cornerstone’s residential treatment for substance abuse depends on your insurance coverage, the extent of your coverage, and the length of your stay.

Please reach out to us for detailed pricing information customized to your financial situation and health insurance policy.

How does residential differ from outpatient?

Residential treatment for substance abuse, also known as inpatient treatment, differs significantly from outpatient services in its approach to addiction recovery.

In a residential program, individuals live at the treatment facility, receiving 24/7 support and intensive care. This environment is particularly suited for those with severe addictions, as it provides a structured setting away from daily triggers and stressors.

Conversely, outpatient rehab allows individuals to live at home and maintain their daily routines, attending treatment sessions at scheduled times. This flexibility makes it a viable option for those with milder addictions or substantial work and family commitments.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the choice between residential and outpatient treatment should be based on the severity of addiction, personal health needs, and life circumstances, underscoring the importance of a personalized approach to recovery.4

Cornerstone provides a residential or inpatient program where individuals stay at our facilities during treatment. This program is particularly beneficial for those with significant addiction issues. Please contact us or complete our insurance verification form for guidance on beginning your recovery journey.

What happens after residential rehab?

After residential rehab, you will continue the treatment process by stepping down to another level of care.

This level of care could be partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or our outpatient program.

Rest assured that you will be taken care of every step of the way.
