Why Virtual IOP is
Therapist Recommended

At Cornerstone Healing Center, we understand that mental health is a deeply personal journey, and finding the right treatment can be overwhelming. It’s not only us — therapists recommend virtual IOP and telehealth for those who need extra support from home.

Therapists recommend Virtual IOP as well. Cornerstone’s very own Todd Lawrence, MS, MAC, LAAC, explains that Virtual IOP is a “Convenient and accessible; structured yet flexible; safe and comfortable; uses evidenced based approaches; and offers peer and professional support.”

Our Virtual IOP combines the structure and support of traditional in-person therapy with the convenience and accessibility of online care. “Virtual IOP can be less intimidating,” Lawrence explained. “It also helps foster peer connection, reduces isolation, and increases motivation.”

Additionally, our Virtual IOP for anxiety can reduce avoidance behaviors through exposure therapy, helps you build coping skills, find helping grounding techniques, and educates you on anxiety cycles so you can understand yourself on a deeper level.

Virtual IOP vs. In-Person IOP

Virtual IOP offers the same level of care as in-person treatment. It provides convenient and accessible care that is structured, but much more flexible so it can fit any schedule.

Virtual IOP from Cornerstone is also safe and private. Our online tool allows you to track your progress and talk with your therapist without fear of being overheard.

We also ensure you’ll have access to likeminded peers through group therapy to help you build a support community, build motivation, and reduce isolation without the need to meet face-to-face.

"We offer an integrated treatment model that addresses addiction and mental health, as well as builds a strong relapse prevention plan through healthy coping skills instead of self-medicating."

What Should You Look for When Selecting a Provider?

We understand how challenging it can be to find the right fit and want you to feel comfortable and empowered to advocate for your care. When looking for a provider, you should ensure they have accreditation and licensing such as JCAHO, CARF, and/or AZBBHE.

The clinicians should be qualified and licensed in LCSW, LPC, LAAC, LAC, PsyD, and/or MD.

They should also use evidenced based treatments such as CBT, DBT, ACT, exposure therapy, trauma-informed care, and 12 step approaches.

Cornerstone Healing Center offers all of this and more, and vets all of our clinicians and therapists to provide you with the best care in Arizona.
