an immersive IOP experience
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) assists those who have endured alcohol or substance abuse to heal their lives. Often, IOP usually comes after a residential or partial hospitalization treatment program.
You will undergo different treatment methods to assist your emotional regulation, coping, and relapse prevention skills, and discover how to love yourself. As you work to better yourself, you will learn how to reconnect with family, friends, and community members to return to your everyday life.
Trauma therapy and education are other elements of the program. We provide trauma-informed care that follows five steps. We give you a safe environment as you receive your treatment. Our treatment center is a no-judgment zone and is always here to help you through your current situation.
As the patient, you can better yourself through the treatment process. Collaborate with your treatment specialist during your road to recovery.
Through the program, you will build trust between you, your peers in the program, and your treatment team. The goal is to empower you with the tools you have received through treatment.
Treatment is best done when you have a community of support. Let Cornerstone Healing Center be the community you choose to journey with on the path to recovery!

Treatment for Addiction at our Scottsdale IOP:
Benefits of cornerstone's IOP
Intensive outpatient is often the buffer for our clients between treatment and returning to the “real world.” In this program, you can tend to your family responsibilities, work, or continue attending school as you navigate the recovery process.
Cornerstone’s Scottsdale Intensive Outpatient Program provides flexibility for clients overcoming addiction.
Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program Offers:
- Flexible hours: Evening IOP allows clients to work or attend school and return home after the program. Clients with outside responsibilities don’t need to put their obligations aside to seek help.
- Community: IOP participants meet peers and sponsors going through similar struggles and journeys. This supportive community can provide resources and strength for those working to overcome addiction.
- Real-world application: Those attending our IOP program can apply what they learn in classes to their everyday lives when they go home. Sometimes transitioning from treatment to the real world can be difficult, but IOP allows clients to take home skills they learned, from mindfulness to nutrition, and put them to practice on their off time.
- Structured but flexible treatment: Intensive outpatient programs allow clients to live at home while attending the same programs as partial hospitalization. Clients still benefit from the structure provided by classes while still keeping outside responsibilities and routines.
- Lower costs: Compared to inpatient treatment, IOP is a lower cost. While we accept most insurance and are willing to work out a flexible payment plan, money shouldn’t be a barrier to treatment.
who is intensive outpatient most beneficial for?
An intensive outpatient substance abuse program is best suited for those who have completed an inpatient or residential treatment program. IOP is often the next step before the completion of treatment.
Additionally, if you cannot leave your job or family at home to do the residential program, completing the outpatient alternative will get you the necessary treatment as you fulfill your other responsibilities.
Some people may be unable to afford the costs of an inpatient program. IOP can benefit these cases by making treatment more accessible for those with financial constraints.

what does cornerstone's intensive outpatient program offer?
Cornerstone Healing Center is an intensive outpatient program in Scottsdale, Arizona. We offer treatment methods that improve self and relationship ties as you rehabilitate. We’re ready to help you achieve your goal of sobriety.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy works on your specific needs. We will pinpoint the emotional triggers that caused you to fall into alcohol or substance abuse and give you coping tips so you can healthily handle your rehabilitation.
Reducing stress, handling PTSD or depression symptoms, and coping with anxiety are some goals we help our patients achieve. Alcohol or substance addiction is addressed so you can gain a more solid grasp of life.
Group Therapy
Group therapy works on the same concepts as individual therapy. The only difference is that you discuss your problems amongst other patients with a therapist leading the meeting. It can be daunting to talk about your issues with other people.
However, talking it out can help you to know you are not alone in your treatment journey. The meeting will start positively with a word from the therapist. Then each person will discuss different topics the therapist asks the clients to chime in on.
EMDR for addiction
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy. This therapy will help to accept and cope with traumatic events that happened. It will also have the client recognize anything causing a divide in their mind.
Yoga
Yoga connects your spirit, body, and mind through gentle exercise movements. Research shows that yoga can enhance rehabilitation by encouraging mindfulness with relaxing activities.
Healing Relationships
Healing relationship is a vital component of our treatment process. Working on rebuilding the relationships you had before rehab will assist your transition back into society as a family member, friend, and community member.
We will give you the tools to rebuild trust, compassion, and empathy with those closest to you. Time heals all wounds, as they say, even with healing relationships.

INTENSIVE oUTPATIENT TREATMENT
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an intensive outpatient program like?
An intensive outpatient program is more in-depth than a regular outpatient program. There are usually longer hours for this version and more therapy involved for those who have more severe drug or alcohol addictions. This program is available for those who should maybe be in an inpatient program, but either their life responsibilities or finances may hinder them, so instead, they receive intensive outpatient treatment.
Is IOP effective in treating addiction?
Yes, intensive outpatient programs work. The more in-depth therapy you receive will slowly repair your mind and reframe it so you can rely on yourself rather than substances to get through challenges. The ability to still stay at home gives you a level of control over activities you do outside of the facility.
How long are intensive outpatient programs?
An intensive outpatient program (IOP) can last 8-12 weeks (2-3 months). Because of the long hours entailed compared to regular outpatient programs, you can finish an IOP quicker than an outpatient program. Of course, the time frame would solely depend on the client’s needs.
Is an IOP covered by health insurance?
Yes, intensive outpatient programs are covered by insurance. The Affordable Care Act states that general market insurance companies cover mental health programs such as alcohol or drug addiction treatment.
If you’re unsure of your deductible or want answers on the specifics of your health insurance policy, we can help you by verifying your insurance.
How much is an IOP without insurance?
An intensive outpatient program would still cost anywhere between $3,000 to $10,000 except there will not be insurance coverage if you are paying out of pocket. We can formulate a payment plan based on your income. Do not let a lack of insurance coverage prevent you from seeking treatment. Your health is more important. The bills can wait until later.
What does an IOP cost without health insurance?
Intensive outpatient programs can cost up to $10,000 depending on how long you are in the program.
Please give us a call to discuss your needs and length of treatment.
What happens after an IOP?
After IOP, many of our clients go into our Standard Outpatient program which is similar to IOP but fewer hours/days a week.
Our standard program is meant to help make the transition from treatment to the outside world slower and more effective.
However, not every client that goes through IOP will go to the Outpatient program. In some cases depending on various factors, clients may go directly into aftercare where they will have support through our sober coaching program.
Can I smoke in the IOP program?
How can I get involved in my loved one’s intensive outpatient program?
Attending family therapy sessions is one way to get involved in your loved one’s intensive outpatient program.
Also, spending time with them outside of IOP, taking them to recovery meetings, and doing activities together is a great way to heal your relationship.
What if my loved one doesn’t want to go to an intensive outpatient program?
If your loved one is hesitant about going to treatment in general, we understand how difficult it can be to get them the help they need. At Cornerstone Healing Center, we make sure that the treatment process is as comfortable and stress-free as possible. We have compassionate staff members who are willing to talk with your loved one about their struggles and provide personalized advice. Our mission is to ensure that your loved one sees the value in starting the recovery process and learns about our facilities and how we are dedicated to helping them build a solid foundation in recovery.
What if my loved one doesn’t see they have a problem with drugs?
If your loved one does not think they have a problem, it can be more difficult to get them to accept help.
In these cases, intervention is the best possible solution. Connect with us to learn how to stage an intervention that can save your loved one’s life.
A certified addiction interventionist will offer caring and compassionate guidance that will help you articulate your concerns in an effective and productive way. With support, you can provide your loved one with the resources they need to get better.
