Job Description

Under the general direction of the agency’s Clinical Director, the Therapist is responsible for providing direct client care under the supervision of the Clinical Director. The Therapist also maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices and communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all clients.

About Cornerstone Virtual IOP

Cornerstone’s Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a flexible, comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment program on a virtual platform. Our program gives clients the structure of intensive treatment while they continue with their daily responsibilities. Clients participate in group therapy, individual therapy and wellness coaching sessions to build resilience, emotional health and personal growth.

The program focuses on psychoeducation, mindfulness and skill building in areas like stress management, communication and self-care. Wellness coaches guide clients through their personalized action plans, helping them set and achieve weekly goals. Clients are part of a supportive community as they transition to healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Essential Job Functions

1. Provides direct support services to include engaging clients in Individual and Group Therapy, topics related to 12-step recovery, health and wellness promotion, and crisis management.

2. Conduct assessments or screenings with clients to evaluate the nature of their presenting problems to determine their needs and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.

3. Develops and provides individual treatment plans; monitors, evaluates and documents client’s progress.

4. Has responsibility for intake documentation. Prepares progress notes, event notifications and other documentation regarding clients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

5. Monitors caseload daily to ensure required documentation is completed timely, including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment plans, case reviews and discharge plans.

6. Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, and client progress in treatment.

7. Completes other tasks as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements 

  • Master’s Degree and Licensed in AZ in a field related to Behavioral Health, this includes LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LAC, LISAC, LASAC, PhD. Or Licensed Professional health care provider.

Knowledge, abilities, and attitude required

  • Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of using virtual platforms, classrooms, and materials
  • Knowledge and experience in counseling and case management with substance abuse clients.
  • Ability to prepare, implement, and analyze treatment plans and psychiatric reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships, gain cooperation and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to plan and organize case workload and manage deadlines of him/herself.
  • Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated competence with and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights.
  • Recognition of the limits of one’s professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and support as needed.
  • Makes clinical and organizational decisions with the clients’ and agency’s well-being and best interests in mind.
  • Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency.
  • Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.
  • Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.
  • Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications.
  • Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to themselves or others, behaves aggressively or destructively, is experiencing a crisis or medical emergency.
  • Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergencies: and
  • Has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training, including the ability to pass background checks required by Cornerstone Healing Center.

 

Pay & Benefits

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
