Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Cornerstone Healing Center!

We know the holidays bring a lot of feelings-some good, some more challenging.

For those who are in recovery or struggling with their mental health, Thanksgiving may not be an easy day for you.

And that is okay.

You are not alone, and we want you to know we are here for you – not just today, but each and every day.

The Holidays Can Be Tough—But You Can Get Through This

Here’s one thing to remember: You don’t have to participate in Thanksgiving in any particular “traditional” way.

It’s okay to say no to an overwhelming big family dinner.

Sometimes creating your own sort of day – one that works for you and supports recovery – is what’s needed.

It may be over a quiet dinner with the best of friends, attending a support meeting, or just taking a day to take care of yourself.

Whatever it is, make it right for you.

Finding Gratitude in the Little Things

We do a lot of talking about being grateful this time of year and that can feel difficult when life isn’t going great.

Gratitude doesn’t have to be some monumental or profound thing – start small: A good cup of hot coffee, a hug from a friend, the fact another day was endured.

If you’re looking for a way to build more gratitude into your life, try starting a gratitude jar:

1. Take any sort of jar, box, or even a mug that may be within reach.

2. Each day, or whenever it feels right, jot down one thing you can be grateful for, no matter how tiny it may seem.

Over time those little scraps of paper will add up, reminding you that even on the really hard days – there’s still some goodness in them.

Some days, it might just be “I got out of bed.” And guess what? That’s more than enough.

You’re Not Alone This Thanksgiving

If Thanksgiving is hard this year, that’s okay.

Take a break, lean on people who care, and maybe even create new traditions that might make the day better for you.

If you’re feeling stuck or don’t know where to turn, we want you to know that you’re not alone.

Cornerstone Healing Center is here for you with support, understanding, and a community that cares.

We’re all about helping you find real solutions that fit your life.

We offer a range of mental health services, including virtual options, so you can get the care you need, no matter where you are.

If you’re struggling with addiction, we’ve got personalized treatment programs designed to help you heal and start fresh.

Whenever you’re ready, we’re here to help. Let’s take that next step together.
