Cornerstone Healing Center is seeking a licensed therapist or Counselor to work on a contract basis. In this clinical role, you will provide group and individual counseling to our clients. Your expertise in addictions and mental health will be crucial as you make diagnoses, collaborate with medical staff, and complete vital information for utilization review. You will closely monitor clients’ progress from admission to discharge, informing the Clinical Director and Case Managers of any issues or problems. Additionally, you will ensure all documentation adheres to state licensing requirements.

As a therapist, you will report to the Clinical Director.


Qualifications

LAC, LPC, LISAC, LASAC, or MSW Preferred

OR

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Psychology, Counseling, Mental Health, Professional Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy 


Additional competencies

  • Must have at least two (2) years of clean and sober experience if in recovery
  • Preferably holds a Drug and Alcohol counseling certificate such as CADAC, CAP, CAAP, CRSS, or any other relevant license or certification issued in the state of Arizona
  • Ability to prioritize and provide appropriate treatment protocols
  • Current certification in CPR & First Aid
  • Trauma-Informed Training (EMDR)

Duties and Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as a Therapist will include:

  • Following clients’ progress throughout the treatment process
  • Conducting weekly therapy groups
  • Meeting with clients individually to create, revise, and review treatment plans, and provide counseling in individual and group settings
  • Documenting progress notes in client files after each session
  • Maintaining regular contact with the Clinical Director to report individuals’ progress
  • Attending and participating in mandatory weekly staff meetings to discuss client care and treatment-related matters
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the program’s policy and procedure manual
  • Continuing professional development by adhering to Federal, State, and County regulations on client confidentiality and staff code of ethics
  • Pursuing continuous training, attending seminars, and earning CEUs as needed
  • Utilizing crisis intervention techniques to recognize and resolve emotional stress
  • Providing current alcohol/drug information and available resources to clients, groups, and families
  • Assessing and incorporating the client’s case management needs, goals, and objectives into the treatment plan and referring them to appropriate staff or external resources
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with the client’s family/significant other/support network as clinically appropriate during their treatment
  • Collaborating with the client to develop and implement a discharge plan
  • Performing any other duties as assigned
